大仔出生於港口小鎮，爸爸媽媽他們不會說話也聽不見聲音，只能靠著連外公外婆都看不太懂的手語溝通。然而，大仔隨著年齡漸長開始對於他人的異樣眼光感到惱怒。來到東京的大仔只能在小鋼珠店打工混口飯吃。直到因緣際會認識了一群和父母一樣聽不到聲音的朋友，相處過程中也讓他重新省思自己與母親的關係。多年後再回到家鄉，面對依然溫暖開朗，總是比手畫腳、傾全力向孩子表達關愛的母親，大仔明白「家」永遠在身後陪伴著自己。
