Matías es un joven de 7 años que, al regresar a casa de una fiesta de cumpleaños se encuentra a su madre, Laura, inconsciente en el suelo. Cuando Laura recupera la consciencia decide escapar con su hijo a un refugio para mujeres maltratadas. Allí pasarán 48 horas hasta que Laura decidirá rehacer su vida en otro lugar. A través de los ojos del joven Matías descubriremos su escapada y cómo todo lo que él conocía se convierte en algo peligroso mientras Laura busca un lugar seguro donde vivir.
