Follow two Southern California police detectives on duty: Sergeant David Michael Starsky, and Sergeant Kenneth Richard "Hutch" Hutchinson.
In the 1970s, Bay City Police detectives David Starsky and Ken 'Hutch' Hutchinson are forced to work as partners. The macho Starsky (Ben Stiller) loves his Ford Gran Torino and recklessly pursues minor offenders, while the easy-going Hutchinson (Owen Wilson) often works alongside criminals to investigate their activity. Jewish-American drug kingpin Reese Feldman (Vince Vaughn) and partner-in-crime Kevin Jutsum (Jason Bateman) develop a new type of cocaine untraceable in scent and taste. When one of his dealers botches an operation, Feldman kills him.
Tough Starsky and educated Hutch are plainclothes cops taking on dope dealers, muggers and other thugs, aided by their red 1974 Torino and informant Huggy Bear. Both bachelors' private lives play as interweaving threads in the drama. This was TV's coolest buddy cop show, fueled by full-throttle car chases, offbeat humour, colourful characters and a hip vibe.
Two streetwise cops bust criminals in their red and white Ford Gran Torino, with the help of a police snitch called "Huggy Bear".
