Wallace and Gromit are the main characters in a series of four British animated short films, several series of short interstitials, and a feature-length film by Nick Park of Aardman Animations. All the characters were made from moulded plasticine modelling clay on metal armatures, and filmed with stop motion clay animation. Wallace, an absent-minded inventor from Wigan, Lancashire, is a cheese enthusiast (especially for Wensleydale cheese). His companion, Gromit, appears to be rather more intelligent than his master. Wallace is voiced by veteran actor Peter Sallis; Gromit remains silent, communicating only through facial expressions and body language.
Frustrated by a lack of things to do over a Bank holiday, combined with annoyance at running out of his favourite cheese, Wallace decides to build a rocket and go to the Moon to sample moon cheese.
Wallace lets out his spare room to a penguin. The penguin and Gromit, Wallace's dog, immediately don't see eye-to-eye. Meanwhile, Wallace has invented a giant pair of robotic trousers, designed to take Gromit for walks.
Wallace's whirlwind romance with the owner of the local wool shop puts his head in a spin; Gromit is framed for sheep-rustling in a fiendish criminal plot.
A behind-the-scenes look at the worldwide phenomenon that is Wallace and Gromit.
Wallace and Gromit try out a number of their latest inventions which rarely work as planned.
Tottington Hall's annual Unusually shaped vegetable is approaching with the coveted Golden Carrot as its prize. Cheese-loving inventor Wallace, and his faithful pet dog and assistant Gromit provide a humane pest control business, "Anti-Pesto", protecting the townspeople's vegetables. However, their success results in a lack of storage space for captured rabbits.
A serial killer has murdered twelve bakers. While on a delivery for their bakery business, Wallace and Gromit save Paella Bakewell tart, a former pin-up girl for the Bake-o-Lite bread company, and her nervous poodle Fluffles when the brakes on her bicycle fail. Gromit finds there is no problem with the brakes, but Wallace is smitten. He and Piella begin a whirlwind romance, and Gromit is angered when she redecorates their house. Fluffles and Gromit share a sensitive moment when she returns Gromit's possessions, discarded by Piella.
Gromit's growing concern over Wallace's over-dependence on his inventions is justified when he invents a “smart gnome” that seems to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it falls to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces – or Wallace may never be able to invent again!
