翔ぶが如く

幕末から明治にかけての日本の変革期をリードした西郷隆盛と大久保利通の友情と対立を軸に、近代国家づくりに奔走した人々の姿を描く。ナレーションや台詞（せりふ）に薩摩ことばを積極的に導入したことでも話題になった。明治維新を成し遂げた２人だが、西郷の唱える「征韓論（せいかんろん）」は政府の根幹を揺るがし、国の存亡を賭けた抗争へ沸騰していく・・・。西郷隆盛を西田敏行、大久保利通を鹿賀丈史が演じ人気を博した。
