Built this about 10 years ago. It came back a few years after that for new rubber bands and shrink wrap tubing :) when I took this video of it in operation. I only recently found it (this morning).. was a fun project, thought I'd share it. All pneumatic, no electronics -- and pretty low-budget! Uses 3 air cylinders, one valve (5/2?), and air limit switches. And rubber bands, of course!
If the first TIG pedal video left you asking questions, here's the long winded version that'll make you wish you never asked. :)

So, how about those End Mill Grinding Fixtures? My apologies for the audio in some place.. my mic started clipping. Tried to fix best I could.
Having a look at a 4" Vertex VA4 milling machine vise. Turned out better than expected -- mostly measuring/inspection, nothing complicated. Audio should be better but I still have a cold, please excuse the sexy-time voice.
A little mash-up this time around: I share my thoughts on tungsten electrodes for TIG welding at home (we even get to measuring the radioactivity of Thoriated tungsten!), my thoughts on Insert Tooling in the home shop, and my first try at dressing a resin bonded diamond wheel (mixed results).
Finally got around to building a back plate for my 6" 4 jaw lathe chuck.
A nice Schaublin 13 fell into my lap -- hit the spot. This is a short overview / first impressions / clean-up, that sort of thing.
Short collection of tips & tricks to make the most of your multimeter in the homeshop.
Just another day in the garage. Needed some tooling arbors for the new mill, decided to make my own. 3 end mill holders and 1 slitting saw arbor -- 30 taper in this case.
More tool holders for the lathe never hurt: shaper project cutting dovetails, first real go with a tapping head, and a bit more on cold bluing.
Finally got around to building the overarm support for the Schaublin 13. The cutter you see at the end is 5/8" wide, 18T, ~3" OD. Cut is 5/8" (16mm) x 0.4" deep (10mm). ~60 RPM @ 0.5 IPM. Short video; science project with my daughter.. and some parabolic cooker talk.
Since its founding in 1892, This Old Tony's gotten quite a few requests for a basic CNC video. Here it is. PROS: It's Basic! CONS: It's Basic! That said, for the CNC newcomer, there's a lot packed into 14 minutes. You may want to watch at 1/4 speed. :)
Talk is cheap and I'm cashing in some chips! (I don't even know what that means, but maybe you'd enjoy chatting for a spell; bought some junk, thought we'd talk about it.)
Vise handle build: 14mm square drive. Come along for the ride?
Before you dive it: this video likely ain't for everyone. A follow up video to the previous CNC intro. Baby steps. If they're helpful I can keep turning up the difficulty knob -- otherwise it's back to making vise handles. Can never have enough vise handles.
Part 1 of 2 - Building a fly cutter. Am not a big fan of multi-part videos, but .. act of god: Mill went down. Might take a bit to get it sorted, so I'm doing a 2 parter. Apologies ahead of time.
Part 2 of 2 of the fly cutter build.
Some Q&A; a follow-up of sorts, for the fly cutter build. Hope this answers some questions!
A slightly different take on grinding your own tools for the shop. I was going to call this video "Making The Case for Insert Tooling" but that'll be part 2. :) I start from the very basics; if you're a ninja-level tool grinder, yes, this might hurt a bit.
