Tex Avery influenced American animation and comedy in immeasurable ways. Cartoon Network pays tribute to the legendary director with 'The Tex Avery Show' each episode presenting a half-hour collection of his best cartoons.

Die Tex Avery Show ist eine Zeichentrickserie, die nicht nur einen, sondern mehrere Helden kennt. Beispiele hierfür sind die Filmabschnitte von Tex Avery (ein Cowboy) oder Freddy, die Fliege. Jede Folge zeigt zwei oder drei Filme von ca. zehn Minuten Dauer. Das Schema dieser Filme ist meist gut gegen böse, z.B. Tex Avery gegen Sid, der ein Räuber ist oder Freddy, der von einer reichen Frau verfolgt wird). In jedem Film versucht eine Figur, ein Ziel zu erreichen (z.B. die reiche Frau versucht, die Fliege zu erschlagen), was ihr aber nie gelingt. Der Unterschied zwischen den Serien sind meist nur die Personen (Tiere) und Schauplätze, z.B. der wilde Westen, das Haus der reichen Dame. (Text: bier)

O Show de Tex Avery é um showcase animado da Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer e Warner Bros, utilizando-se dos cartoons criados pelo animador Tex Avery (aka Fred Avery). O showcase estreou no Cartoon Network em 1996 (não muito tempo depois da fusão entre Time Warner e Turner), e foi retirado do ar em 2002, enquanto reprises continuaram a ser mostradas no Cartoon Network até junho de 2004. A maior parte de sua obra foi produzida nos estúdios Warner Bros e Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, criando os personagens Pernalonga, Patolino, Droopy, Esquilo Maluco, e ajudando no desenvolvimento de Gaguinho e Picolino (este último para o Walter Lantz Studio). Sua influência pode ser encontrada em quase todos os desenhos produzidos nas décadas de 1940 e 1950.

Frederick Bean "Tex" Avery (February 26, 1908 – August 26, 1980) was an American animator, cartoonist, director, and voice actor. He was known for directing and producing animated cartoons during the golden age of American animation. His most significant work was for the Warner Bros. and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios, where he was crucial in the creation and evolution of famous animated characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Droopy, Screwy Squirrel, The Wolf, Red Hot Riding Hood, and George and Junior. He gained influence for his technical innovation, directorial style and brand of humor. Avery's attitude toward animation was opposite that of Walt Disney and other conventional family cartoons at the time. Avery's cartoons were known for their sarcastic, ironic, absurdist, irreverent, and sometimes sexual tone in nature. Avery's cartoon focused on sight gags, surrealist humor, rapid pacing, racial stereotypes, and violent humor, with wacky characters that broke the fourth wall.
