3-х серийный телевизионный фильм по одноименной повести Ивана Лазутина. Приехавшего поступать в Ленинградский университет из Сибири Алексея Северцева ловко обманывают опытные преступники. На вокзале им удается увлечь за собой и заманить Северцева в безлюдное место, избить и обворовать. Расследовать это происшествие поручают молодому сержанту милиции Николаю Захарову
