Der zweiteilige Dokumentarfilm zeigt, dass der israelische Sieg gegen die arabische Allianz im Krieg des Jahres 1967 einen Wendepunkt in der Geschichte des Nahen Ostens darstellte, dessen Folgen bis heute politisch hochbedeutend sind. Gegenstand des ersten Teils der Dokumentation ist die unmittelbare Vorgeschichte der militärischen Auseinandersetzung mit den beiden Hauptprotagonisten Gamal Abdel Nasser, damaliger ägyptischer Staatspräsident, und dem israelischen Ministerpräsidenten Levi Eschkol.
