Der aggressive und unsympathische Geschäftsmann Roger Ramsdale engagiert die drei von der Riptide-Detektei: Ramsdale verdächtigt seine Frau der Untreue; die Detektive sollen sie beschatten. Doch diese stellen schnell fest, dass der Fall faul ist: Mrs. Ramsdale ist die Liebenswürdigkeit und Unschuld in Person. Und es wird immer offensichtlicher, dass Ramsdale einen Mordauftrag erteilt hat. Doch zur Überraschung Ramsdales ändert der Killer Craig in letzter Minute seinen Plan.

Quinlan) At great reluctance, Cody, Nick and Murray accept a job from shady attorney Myron Bell that turns out to be working for an arrogant, rude character named Roger Ramsdale, who wants them to get evidence that his wife Joan is supposedly cheating on him, to help him win a divorce law suit. But as the trio begrudgingly take on their assignment, they find that far from being the harlot Roger claims, the woman is in fact an upstanding, thoroughly nice lady, and what's more, she herself has hired two female private investigators to prove that Roger is actually the one cheating on her. But when Roger is murdered, Joan is arrested as the prime suspect, and the male and female private investigators are forced to not only join forces to try and find the real killer, but more demandingly to simply manage to get along together...

rc: Jack Ging (lieutenant Quinlan) A contrecœur, Cody, Nick et Murray acceptent un boulot de l'avocat véreux Myron Bell qui travaille pour un personnage arrogant et grossier du nom de Roger Ramsdale, qui veut qu'ils obtiennent des preuves que sa femme Joan est en train de le tromper afin de l'aider à gagner une poursuite en divorce. Mais alors que le trio prend leur mission à contrecœur, ils constatent que loin d'être la prostituée que réclame Roger, la femme est en fait une femme honnête et parfaitement gentille, et de plus, elle a elle-même embauché deux enquêteurs privés pour prouver que Roger est en fait celui qui la trompe. Mais quand Roger est assassiné, Joan est arrêtée comme le principal suspect, et les enquêteurs privés masculins et féminins sont forcés non seulement à unir leurs forces pour essayer de trouver le vrai tueur, mais plus simplement à réussir à s'entendre ...
