Popi is a half-hour comedy series starring stage and television actor Hector Elizondo. Elizondo plays a Puerto Rican father, Abraham Rodriguez, who holds three part-time jobs to sustain himself and his two young sons. His sons. Junior and Luis, are played, respectively, by Anthony Perez and Steven Dennis Vasquez. Edith Diaz portrays Abraham's girlfriend, Lupe, a very pretty lady who lives in the same building, and who would like to marry Abraham and help him raise his children. Abraham — or Popi, as his children call him — puts forth a particular drive and ingenuity in his attempts to make a life for himself and his sons in the urban ghetto of New York City. A lot of hard work helps him to make ends meet and an indestructible sense of humor keeps him going.
