ศรีนวล สาวงามแห่งบ้านลานเท มอบใจให้เลอสรร หนุ่มเมืองกรุงที่ประสบอุบัติเหตุความจำเสื่อมและถูกจับให้แต่งงานกับคนอื่น ศรีนวลอุ้มท้องลูกของเลอสรรและคลอดดาว โดยมีสมิงเพื่อนรักเป็นลุงที่ดี แต่สมิงถูกเข้าใจผิดว่าเป็นโจร เลอสรรและระพีตำรวจหนุ่มจึงมาตามจับสมิง ระพีกับดาวไม่ถูกกันในตอนแรก แต่เมื่อใกล้ชิดกัน ทั้งคู่กลับมีใจให้กัน
