ある日、謎の死を遂げた美しい女性・藤乃朱。彼女と入れ替わるように、朱の双子の妹と名乗る桜が、人気作家・溝呂木舜の前に現われた。実は溝呂木は、朱の小説「ウツボラ」を盗作していたのだ。「ウツボラ」の原稿を持つ桜は、溝呂木にある提案を持ちかける。やがて深い闇へと追い詰められていく溝呂木。一方で、刑事たちは朱の死の真相を追っていた。
