花の生涯

開国か攘夷（じょうい）か、激動の幕末を舞台に、攘夷論に反対してあくまでも開国を主張し、桜田門外で水戸浪士の襲撃を受けて果てた大老、井伊直弼。彼の生涯を数人の女性を絡ませて描く。原作は舟橋聖一の同名小説。歌舞伎界から、尾上松緑（おのえしょうろく）が井伊直弼を演じた。

Naosuke Ii, an elder who was attacked by Ronin Mito outside the Sakurada Gate, insisted on the opening of the country against the theory of the opening of the country, whether it was the opening of the country or the end of the turbulent Edo period. It depicts his life involving several women. The original is Seiichi Funahashi's novel of the same name. From the Kabuki world, Onoe Shoroku played Naosuke Ii.
