Acht hoogbejaarden die nog volop in het leven staan krijgen samen met presentator Dennis van der Geest de kans om samen een wereldreis te maken. Allemaal hebben ze een droom die zich afspeelt ver buiten de landsgrenzen. Toch zijn de meesten nog nooit in het buitenland geweest. De vier mannen en vier vrouwen kennen elkaar van tevoren niet, maar beleven dit unieke avontuur met elkaar.
