独孤天峰（罗乐林）、严晓青（李丽丽）夫妇因与江湖正道人士起冲突而被追杀，峰被擒并囚于天山，青流落江湖二人之初生子则被一农家收养，改名林康。 十数年后，康（黄日华）长大成人，在连番奇遇后，练成盖世武功，另方面，峰逃脱，与青重逢，合组天圣教，残杀武林人士报仇，康率众对抗，父子见面不相识，更拼个你死我活。 白承忠（吴岱融）本为世家之子，受康所累，全家惨死，忠急于报仇，误入魔道，更冒认为峰之子，连番陷害康。 此外，康、忠与冷紫嫣（邵美琪）、柳傲霜（文雪儿）、柳傲雪（蔡嘉利）及江震雄（刘家辉）之间的一段多角恋情，纠缠不清，结果出人意表……
